Leaves, bark, roots and flowers give up their colour through water and fire. This is our practice of natural dyeing: bare fibre meets living matter, and a palette emerges that runs from the most vivid to the most profound.
Dyeing is a gesture of alliance. Bare fibre meets a colour born in the plant, carried by water, revealed by fire.
We work on cotton, linen and silk, dyeing in botanical baths of indigo, turmeric, mango leaf, eucalyptus, avocado, onion peel, hibiscus, each plant breathing its own nuance and depth into the cloth.
From soft pastels to unexpected vivid tones, we have developed a full palette drawn entirely from nature.
Our colours are born of slow extraction, by infusion, decoction or maceration, then revealed in dye baths on mordanted fibres, worked cold or hot according to the depth we seek. Layer by layer, through overdyeing, we deepen each shade until the colour holds a living density entirely its own.
